How can you know if a hoverboard charger is safe and qualified?2015-12-11

Some customers inquiry us if their hoverboard chargers are low quality or not.

“I bought a Smart Board and need to know if it is safe and will not explode/catch fire. The charger says Model HK42-2000, Input 100-240VAC, 50/60H2, 1.5A, output 42V 2000mA.  Please tell me this one is safe or what I need to do to make it safe....change charger, etc.”

Our answer is:

Is there any UL certificate number on the label or other certificates like ROHS, FCC etc?
We don't know if the charge is safe or not. Because even the label says it owns the certificates, but you cannot ensure it is true or not.  There is only one method that you check the certificate numbers in the official website.
Our chargers pass the UL certificate. You can find the UL report online.
We also pass many other certificates, such as BS, RoHS, FCC. But UL and BS is the hardest to pass. Only the high quality products can pass this certificate.
You can see the difference between our UL charger and other chargers.
Our charger is much larger because it owns the protection circuit with high voltage generator and more complicated and safer designSAFETY REQUIREMENT and COMPLY SAFETY STANDARDS ARE DIFFERENT(UL/C-UL(UL60950),TUV(EN60950),CE/EMC,T-LICENSE,SAA,BSMI,PSE,3C/GB4943).
That's why our charger is much safer than the low quality ones.

If you cannot ensure your charger is safe for charging now, I advise you to change the current charger to a high quality one to avoid the trouble. It costs not much.
If you want to change the charger, you can buy it on our online shop.
If you still need to use the old chargers. Just be careful when you are charging. Don't let the charger be too hot. If it is very hot, just stop the charging.

We also strongly suggest you to replace the unqualified batteries to the best quality Samsung or LG batteries, if you cannot ensure the safety.
